I had insulted fabric oven mittenss and tried welding gloves before. The fabric ones became less insulating over time and the welding gloves were more designed to resistant brief heat. So I tried these silicon gloves. The temperature protection is very good. I can take very hot things out of the oven.

A slight complaint (and the reason for only the overall 4 rating) is that the depth between the thumb and rest of the mitten is a bit too shallow, making me work to get a good grip. But I expect I will adjust to that.

So, I think this one is "good" but there may be better fits on others.
