I bought these to help when I dry sheets, they were always getting tangled. They worked so well I use them in every load. They help some with static but if you are washing a load that creates a lot you might want to add a dryer sheet or fabric softener. My family has a running joke with them. We always find them in a pocket or leg of our laundry, sometimes not until we try to out the clothes on!

Great drier balls, help keep things fluffy
I have been using these dryer balls for two years and love them. I am surprised to see others have had issues with them cracking since I've been using mine steadily for so long without issue. I have noticed that over time the ends of the little spikes have become shiny and dull. (see photo) My husband and I both have really sensitive skin and using fabric softener isn't really an option for us so these work really well to help keep our laundry from getting as wrinkly. I believe they seem to help the items dry faster in our Whirlpool dryer. I would say that adding them to a load of towels, sheets or bedding is a must. While it does make it slightly louder it's not as bad as if you have ever used tennis balls. I'd say for us it's not much loader than a load of jeans would be anyway. I never had any issues with them causing damage to fabrics or clothes. When it is really dry I do still need to use non scented dryer sheets to help with the static cling since these balls alone don't seem to be enough.
