    It DOES take a long time to drip from the top water area to through the filter, but it's worth the wait!!! The water tastes so good & fresh! I can't believe the difference from my faucet to this filtered water. Everything tastes better. It protects way more than Brita! So to me it's worth the wait, especially to get out contaminants like Lead from the water, which Brita does not do!The way we use this pitcher is; every time we use it, we add water to it immediately so the next time we need fresh clean water, it's ready to use. I'm glad I didn't get the big one, because it would have been too heavy to lift, this size is perfect for us. We use it for everything now! Cooking, filling the Keurig resviour, making ice cubes, making tea/juice/lemonade & filling the dog's water bowl. Everything tastes so much better too.I did time it, to see how long it takes to drip, it's about 10 minutes, each fill time. It takes 3 seprate refill times for it to drip till it's completely full. As long as you fill it each time you use it, you'll never go without, simple solution. It's worth waiting to take out all the harmul stuff in the water.I recomend this if you're persistent, don't mind waiting the first time you use it, & if you have 2 adults living in the house. You can get a bigger pitcher if you have more than 3+ people living in the house. It's definitely worth it to me. But it's up to you wether you want to get their faucet attachment instead for instant water or if you'd rather pay for water in plastic bottles. 🤔 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes, after comparing the two major brands - Pur and Brita of both faucet mounted water filters and water filter pitchers, "Pur" is FAR BETTER than Brita.     I love this filtered pitcher! I moved to a new apartment and noticed the water tasted different and there was a residue on my glass any time I drank a glass of water. This has definitely helped and was less commitment than adding a filter to my sink. However, the sensor on the lid broke off really easily. I ended up gluing it, but I don't know how long it will work. If I could do it again I'd be more careful with that little sensor square so heed my advice!

    I should have bought this pitcher years ago but my last one lasted about 15 yrs. It is a good price. My advise is that stick with PUDE filters, and do NOT buy other brands, for you will regret like I did in the past.
    Cheap ones filter faster but do not really filter contaminants like PURE filters do. Highly recommended.

    I had a Brita filter pitcher, but I read in the NYT that Brita doesn't filter as many particulates as PUR, so I made the switch. I'm glad I did!
    The water tastes noticeably better, which was a surprise to me, since the Brita already tasted better than water straight from the tap. The PUR water is even better!
    Coffee tastes better, too.
    Plus, I have some of those extra-large ice trays for fancy cocktails, and the ice is almost 100% clear; very little "frosting." I love this thing!
    *UPDATE*
    The seals in this pitcher have completely failed, and now, it spills more water _around_ the pour spout than it sends through it into whatever vessel I'm attempting to use as a receptacle.
    I spend more time mopping up water from the counter and floor than I do getting actual filtered water.
    The pitcher—nor any of its parts—has ever even been within one meter of a dishwasher, so there it's not heat-induced plastic distortion.
    I have meticulously changed the filter every two months, as as the red indicator suggests. However, the filter has become increasingly difficult to remove over the past 11 months. I can only conclude that the seals on this thing are very cheap, very soft plastic, and are not up to the task of multiple refills/pours daily.
    It pours more unfiltered water than filtered water; you're not going to get what you pay for here, sad to say.

    I had a Pur pitcher for years and the handle finally broke off. It was the perfect size and fit in my fridge. This 11 cup one is bigger, and the 7-cup is smaller, so I guess they don't make the in-between size any longer. Too bad, because the 11 cup is unweildly. The lead reducing filters make great water, but they only last maybe 3 weeks and then clog up to become useless. It's pretty expensive to replace, at about $10/filter, every 3 weeks. That's with 2 people using it. I use the water for cooking, my pet's water, to make coffee/tea and for drinking. I wish they made a size between the too-small 7 cup and the too-big 11 cup. Then it would be Just Right!

    The old pur plus jugs are far superior because they don't have that silly light which effectively means there is a battery submerged in your drinking water. Sure you can remove the light but then you have a hole in the top of the jug allowing insects dirt and dust to come into your water. I mean what a crazy design, fortunately I have discovered the new pur plus filters fit the ancient jugs! Thank God I did not throw away my old pur jugs. Pur, I suggest you fix this design get rid of that silly light.
