The paper industry clear cuts 1,000,000 acres of North American boreal forest each year. While trees may be replanted (and re-cut) the forest is gone forever.

But, Trees Grow Too, Right?

Yes, but the complex ecosystem that is a forest is gone forever. A forest is biodiverse. Over time, it is populated by different species of plants, animals and other living things at all stages of growth. They depend on each other, creating a complex ecosystem our climate depends on. The Caboo toilet paper arrived and I thought this isn't going to work. The roll is smaller than Costco brand. It's only one ply versus Costco's two ply. It's likely to tear thru. Then we ran out of the current roll of toilet paper and I opened the Caboo. First time I used it I was surprised that it was tougher than Costco's yet still soft. Time went on and we started our second roll of Caboo toilet paper. By now my opinion is changing and as we continued to use the Caboo I also noticed that each roll was lasting longer than the apparently larger Costco toilet paper. Hmm. Maybe I judged it prematurely because I was wrong. Does a better job, lasts longer and is both softer and stronger. Add environmentally friendly and I have to say that this is a winner. I'd still like to see a slightly larger sheet.

I've tried Bim Bam Boo bamboo TP & it was hard & expensive. I realize all bamboo TP is going to be more expensive than any regular brand, but Bim Bam Boo was just much & the price has increased since the last time I bought it. I did appreciate it came in a cardboard box that could be reused or recycled, & each roll was wrapped in lovely bamboo paper, but the price was too much. Caboo is less expensive & is very soft! You can hardly tell the difference between Caboo & a regular brand of TP! It's not as soft & plush as say Charmin, but it is a very good TP nonetheless. I only wish the paper didn't come wrapped in plastic. There's a TP roll in the center & I don't know if that's made from bamboo as well or not, but it feels stronger than the roll inside regular TP. Overall, I would highly recommend giving Caboo a try.
