I bought this to install the mount in the unused CD slot in my car. It works great and is very stable. The magnet is strong. I wish it also charged the phone, but it doesn't claim to.
The bonus for me was that the vent adapter that comes with this is fantastic as well. It has a hook that will hook over the back of the slats in the vent and you can screw it in to adjust how tight it clamps. The mounting ball seems to be a standard size. I was able to take the vent adapter and use it as the mount with a different brand that does charge the phone via magsafe, but had a terrible clamp.

Works great with MagSafe in a Ford Ranger
Using in a 2001 Ford Ranger with the factory stereo. We have tried it with iPhone 12 and 14 with leather MagSafe cases and it works great! We had to put the screw on the bottom to avoid the trim above the CD player, but even with a stick shift it’s fine.
