I received this drive and started loading it up. It is quite noisy as other reviews have said, but I was able to overlook that based on the price of the drive and how well it was working. I had an issue where the drive wouldn't connect to my computer. I contacted support and they quickly offered to replace it for me. While I am waiting for the replacement, this drive has started working again. I'm not sure if it was a fluke thing or what. The company is sending me the replacement, I am going to copy my files over to it and send this one back. They are very easy to work with. Think I am going to buy another one soon.

It work fine for a while but I noticed it was very noisy. Finally it started making noise all the time and I would have to reboot it. Now it won't allow me to run any kind of check program. It locks up so it's useless to me now. Try to find a way to get it sent back for warranty, good luck.
Additional information:
I disassembled this product and discover that it was running extremely hot inside which was leading to an eventual failure. Being a computer tech I understand these things. The internal temperature was so hot that It was uncomfortable to touch. I left the sides off and began to operate it under normal circumstances again. A couple things happened: The first being that it started working again and the temperature dropped dramatically without the sides attached. It became quieter. It was a very noisy hard drive up until that point. I was able to do a large data copy over a 12-hour period without any issues. One final observation, the hard drive itself is a Seagate brand. But take note that these are referred and used hard drives. That's why they're so cheap. I was going to take a picture and upload it but it seems that Amazon has disabled and feature.

I’ve recently ran out of storage, and I was looking for a budget hard drive That wouldn’t break the bank. I’m only planning to use it to transfer data to Store as back up. So, in my case, it will not be connected to the computer and running at all time.

As a back up storage device, it seem to be working very good. Only time. Will tell if the device is worth it or not.

My only complain about the product so far is that the transfer rate is acceptable. I wish it was a bit faster using a newer USB type C cable.

So far so good is working as it should and it’s a lot cheaper than the brand-name harddrives. If you are on a budget, this would be a great option.

The drive worked great right out of the box. I copied almost 6 TB of data from 3 older drives to this over a period of a couple days when I first got it and it never missed a beat. I highly recommend this drive for archiving data. It is older hard drive technology, so it is a bit slow. You wouldn't want to try to install most games to it, but storing video files, music files, etc work great with no performance issues at all.
