UK TV ratings: Champions League football peaks with 6 million viewers on ITV

UEFA Champions League football appealed to more than 4 million viewers on ITV last night (June 6), according to overnight figures.

The match between Barcelona and Juventus, which saw the Catalans win the European competition for a fifth time, averaged 4.06m (22%) with a peak of 6m (28.5%) around 9.30pm.

On BBC One, The National Lottery: Who Dares Wins was watched by 2.99m (15.5%) from 8.05pm. Casualty and The John Bishop Show managed 3.68m (17.6%) and 3.3m (18.5%) respectively.

Over on BBC Two, a Dad's Army repeat entertained 1.44m (7.2%). Pinewood: 80 Years of Movie Magic took 1.28m (6.2%) in the 9pm hour.

Channel 4's airing of Anna Karenina averaged 478k (2.87%), while on Channel 5, the latest Big Brother highlights managed 648k (3.1%).

ITV3's Foyles War topped the multichannels with 688k (3.8%) from 9pm. Sky Sports 1's coverage of the Champions League final attracted 497k (2.8%) from 6pm.
