The impact of the Comprehensive Area Assessment on children’s services is still unclear nearly a year after its launch.

Children & Young People Now’s conference looks at what childcare professionals can learn from the past year.

Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills Christine Gilbert will speak about what to expect in the new one-day inspections, and local authorities will share their inspection experiences.

Conference participants will also hear how children’s services inspections affect overall local authority assessments.

Measuring Impacts and Outcomes

Children & Young People Now’s Measuring Impacts and Outcomes conference, now in its second year, looks at how children’s services can measure outcomes more accurately and work in partnership for greater impact.

Representatives from Ofsted and local authorities will discuss how to clearly define outcomes, practical ways of measuring outcomes more accurately and how to demonstrate the impact of these outcomes on services.

Other conference topics include interagency working and including ‘soft outcomes’ on the outcomes agenda.
