The 28th WNBA season is officially underway, and since kicking off last week it’s already garnered more buzz and interest in the game from casual hoops fans than the league has enjoyed since its launch year in 1997.

Eyes are on Caitlin Clarke, who has started off the season on a shaky foot since being the No. 1 overall pick for the Indiana Fever and making her WNBA debut. The Fever have so far suffered four losses, all against semifinalists from last year’s playoffs. They lost their first two games against the Connecticut Sun and New York Liberty, and were left defeated once again during both rematches.

That being said, there’s still lots of season left for the tide to turn. This week, the Fever will take on the Los Angeles Sparks in a hotly anticipated contest on Friday, May 24. On Saturday, The Indiana Fever will take on defending champs Las Vegas Aces, pitting Clarke against her previous teammate Kate Martin.
