June 28, 2023 - Microsoft mail domains block FORScan mail server

Starting from the June 28th all Microsoft Outlook-protected domains (hotmail.*, live.*, msn.*, outlook.* etc) bounce back emails from FORScan mail server with error code 550 (blacklisted). Unfortunately, really numerous attempts to resolve the problem with ISP and Microsoft didn't give any effect. For now, no any FORScan mails are delivered to these mail domains. We are trying to find a solution.

April 24, 2023 - Vgate vLinker FS Bluetooth adapter is available

Vgate has started sales of the vLinker FS BT, a Bluetooth version of the vLinker FS. The adapter has all the same features as the USB version. In addition, it is Apple MFI certified, so becomes a perfect choice for both FORScan Lite platforms - Android and iOS.

OBD Solutions company has released their brand new OBDLink EX USB adapter. This product was created specially for our project, FORScan team was directly involved in testing and refinement of the adapter. In addition to high performance and MS-CAN bus support, OBDLink EX has a set of advanced features that make it comparable to expensive J2534 PassThru devices but for very reasonable price.

Major release that includes: new section Tests added (promised long time ago), vehicle database update, migration to new core (2.3.13), massive set of fixes and improvements of visual issues appeared in new iOS versions and on new devices.

Also, new application for iOS is released - FORScan Viewer. This is a simple app that can be used to check vehicle on-board network configuration (modules) and read diagnostic trouble codes (DTC). Among other things, we recommend to use this free application to check base FORScan abilties and compatibility with adapter and vehicle.

June 4, 2013 - FORScan version 2.0.5 beta is released

This version contains massive set of stability fixes and improvements, most important one are corrections in the HS/MS CAN procedure that fix the issue with vehicle's incorrect behaviour at the moment of switch from HS to MS (see news of 1st June). Some of other changes in this version are also quite important.

June 1, 2013 - Warning about using MSCAN bus

We get complaints from users who own latest generation of CAN vehicles (Ford Focus Mk3, Ford Mondeo Mk4, Galaxy/SMax since 2006 etc) that MSCAN functionality on their vehicles sometimes causes inadequate behaviour. So far we don't know if china apapters cause it or something else. In any case, we strongly do NOT recommend to use MS CAN functions on these vehicles until we understand the problem.

March 13, 2013 - v2.0 status update

Official message from the Team:

Unfortunately we have to postpone the v2.0 delivery, so far - to 31 March, but we can not promise it will not be moved again. Main reason - lack of time developers can dedicate for this work. Although this development is in a final stage, there is still a lot of things to do.

We really appreciate for all the encouragement we get from FORScan users. We are sorry for the delay and assure that we do and will do our best to deliver new version as soon as possible. We will also look for a possibility to dedicate more resources on the project in the future.
